We are looking for an engaging and scientifically proficient marine biologist with solid communication skills to join our team. Therefore, the ideal candidate will need to have research experience in their field and excellent interpersonal abilities to work harmoniously in teams at all levels of scientific expertise.

A marine biologist’s responsibilities include exploring the deep ocean while studying plants and animals that live there. In addition, there will be fascinating opportunities such as going on expeditions to other parts of the world to study marine life in addition to normal labour.

In the end, you will work with a group of researchers and experts to understand our oceans and aquatic life in order to find new scientific discoveries.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and research on organisms in the marine environment
  • Study characteristics of animals in the ocean such as how species interact, diseases and movement patterns.
  • Analyse the effect of human activity on marine ecosystems
  • Collect biological data and specimens to analyse
  • Monitor and manage wildlife populations and invasive plants and animals
  • Write research papers and articles explaining your findings

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS

  • Proven work experience as a marine biologist or any similar role
  • Keen observation skills 
  • Good communication skills
  • Sound reasoning and judgment skills to draw conclusions from observations and research
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in working closely with others
  • University degree with formal aquatic research experience preferred

SALARY RANGE

The salary range for a marine biologist is between RM 3,000 to RM 6,500.
