Senior executives from The Access Group shared their vision for the company’s growth as they launch the Access Global Operations (GO) Centre in Kuala Lumpur. They emphasized their commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment, positioning these values as key to driving the company’s expansion and success in the region.

Chris Bayne, CEO of The Access Group, addressed the question of future expertise needs as the company scales its presence in Malaysia.

“At the moment, we are low on go-to-market resources,” Bayne stated. Also identifying a strategic focus on enhancing capabilities in marketing and sales, particularly in digital domains.

He emphasized, “We also want to build out the local engineering team, focusing on AI components for Evo and product localization tailored to APAC markets. Our vision is to establish a center of excellence in AI based here.”

Bayne’s remarks highlighted the company’s drive to position Kuala Lumpur not just as a key operations center but as a hub of technological innovation within the APAC region.

“We’re very clear on what we’re looking for in our people, but inclusivity is at the heart of it,” Taylor said.

He shared an analogy that resonated with attendees. “You have to go out in the street, take a photograph, and make sure what’s in the street is actually reflected in your office.”

Taylor also discussed how the company promotes work-life balance and supports young female professionals in the software industry.

“We want to empower young, dynamic females and ensure they have the confidence and opportunities to excel,” he added.

Jorgensen called upon attendees to see for themselves how The Access Group practice this philosophy.

“What we saw this morning (diversity) is amazing,” he said.

“We’ve consciously built an environment where ‘Be You’ is not just a slogan but a way of life.”

Radu Giju, Managing Director of Global Operation Centres, shared his approach to team building and management.

“Complementary teams are the strongest teams,” Giju said, emphasizing that a blend of different skills and perspectives leads to better results.

“We need to find the right people who truly enjoy what they do. Maintaining this balance of skills and backgrounds is essential to handling the complexities of a global operation.”

Giju highlighted the significance of cultural diversity within the team.

“Whether it’s employees from Chinese, Muslim, Indian, or Malay backgrounds, everyone contributes unique value. This mix not only enhances team performance but makes management more straightforward and effective,” he said.

With over seven years of experience in Malaysia, Giju acknowledged the country’s strategic importance.

“For me, Malaysia isn’t just a bridge between East and West, it’s already a gateway to the world. This perspective is reflected in our leadership here, which includes experts from Europe and other regions, contributing to a rich and varied team dynamic.”
