JOB BRIEF

We are seeking a skilled translator to accurately interpret written and audio pieces in various languages while also managing to preserve their original meaning, format and tone. 

As a translator, your responsibilities are to carefully read and comprehend the context of the given material while also utilising specialised tools. They also must proofread all the translated documents before submitting them back to the client. This role requires exceptional attention to detail and fluency in at least two languages including your native language.

Your main objective is to deliver high-quality translated content that aligns with our internal requirements and enables us to effectively engage a broader audience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read the given material and research industry-specific terminology
  • Convert text and audio recordings from one language to another
  • Ensure translated content conveys the original meaning and tone
  • Prepare subtitles for videos and online presentations
  • Cross-reference specialised tools to check the quality of translation
  • Proofread translated texts for grammar, spelling and punctuation accuracy
  • Follow up with internal members and clients to ensure translations are met
  • Edit content while maintaining its original format
  • Network with field experts to stay current on new translation tools

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS

  • Proven work experience as a translator, interpreter or any similar role
  • Fluency in at least two languages including your native language
  • Excellent proofreading skills with the ability to identify grammar, spelling and punctuation errors
  • Good knowledge of content editing software and tools
  • Time management skills
  • BSc in Translation, Interpreting or a similar field
  • Additional certifications in linguistics are an advantage
