A chief financial officer (CFO) refers to a senior executive that is responsible for managing the financial actions of a company. Therefore, the CFO’s duties include tracking cash flow and financial planning as well as analysing the company’s financial strengths and weaknesses and proposing corrective actions. Also, the role of a CFO is similar to a treasurer or controller because they are responsible for managing the finance and accounting divisions and for ensuring that the company’s financial reports are accurate and completed in a timely manner.

JOB BRIEF
We are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer or CFO to perform effective risk management and plan the organisation’s financial strategy. In addition, it is a very important and complex role since an organisation can only survive if it actively investigates and safeguards its finances.
Moreover, a CFO must be well-versed in all aspects of financial management ranging from simple accounting to broad investment and banking operations. Obviously, the ideal candidate will be an excellent leader since all relative departments of the organisation will be under their command.
Lastly, the goal is to protect the company’s revenues and profits to achieve full financial control and sustainable growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive the company’s financial planning
- Perform risk management by analysing the organisation’s liabilities and investments
- Decide on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks
- Control and evaluate the organisation’s fundraising plans and capital structure
- Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organisation’s operations
- Supervise all finance personnel such as controllers or treasurers
- Manage vendor relationships
- Prepare reliable current and forecasting reports
- Set up and oversee the company’s finance IT system such as TPS and IMS
- Ensure compliance with the law and company’s policies
- Manage team of financial controllers and financial analysts.
REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS
- Proven experience as CFO, finance officer or relevant role
- In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software such as SAP
- Ability to strategise and solve problems
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Have an analytical mind and comfortable with numbers
- Certificates such as CPA or CFA is a strong advantage
- BSc/BA such as in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus
SALARY RANGE
The monthly salary range for a chief financial officer between RM13,000 to RM15,000.
