Layoffs 2024: 3 Tips to Avoid Getting Laid OffAccording to a recent ResumeBuilder survey, 4 of 10 businesses plan to lay off employees in 2024. Over half of these businesses intend to stop new hires in the upcoming year. These small and medium-sized businesses join the ranks of several firms that have announced major job cuts.

Discord announced they laid off 170 staff due to mass hiring in 2020. Lazada, the Alibaba-owned firm, made a significant cut in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. Google also started the year by reducing around a thousand jobs in the company.

Impending Layoffs: Now Is the Time to Get Ready

Jobs are in short supply when certainty is scarce. That’s what the LinkedIn workforce report indicates, anyway. November saw a 4.9% decrease in hiring, and this trend is anticipated to continue.

1. Examine your LinkedIn profile and resume from a new perspective.

It might be time to start over on your next opportunity as the New Year approaches. Many astute job seekers use ChatGPT and other AI tools when writing their resumes. Furthermore, ensuring your LinkedIn personal brand is distinct and appealing is always a good idea.

3. Get guidance.

Time is a major factor in success. Before deciding on your career, you must consider how long you want to wait. According to Forbes, the best method for accelerating your results is to receive coaching and guidance. If you don’t want to wait and go it alone in your career, think about the benefits of having someone who shares your passion for success, particularly if you find yourself in unanticipated professional situations.

The goal of coaching is to assist clients in finding their growth and unexpected readiness by helping them discover what’s easiest for them. It’s always better to have two heads than one regarding your career, especially if you can locate a qualified advisor who can assist you in gaining more confidence, even if your career takes you in an unexpected direction.
